Manuel Antonio National Park
A small coastal park on the Pacific: 1,983 hectares of forest on land, with trails that lead to beaches such as Manuel Antonio and Espadilla Sur. Three of Costa Rica's four monkey species live here.
What to know
Closed on Tuesdays. The other six days it opens from 7 am to 4 pm.
Tickets are sold online only, in advance, through SINAC. There is no ticket counter at the gate, so book before you go, bring your passport and keep the QR code on your phone.
Go early and look up: mantled howler monkeys, white-faced capuchins, squirrel monkeys and two kinds of sloth live in the park.
